Many BA roles ask you to document what already exists.

This one asks you to make it better.

Most BA roles sit comfortably between meetings and templates. This one doesn't.

You'll bridge business and technology, analysing how things work, spotting where they could work smarter, and delivering structured solutions across an insurance and financial services platform.

Real exposure from day one.

No handholding.

No menial ground-up tasks.

Meaningful work, visible impact, and direct access to the people who make decisions.

What this role is (and isn't)
This role is for someone who:
  • Asks why a process works before suggesting how to fix it
  • Can write for a developer and a business stakeholder on the same day
  • Gets curious about data flows, integrations, and how information moves between systems
  • Wants to own outcomes, not just document them
  • Thrives with broad exposure in a flat, high-trust team
This role is probably not for someone who:
  • Prefers to stay on the business side and leave the technical details to others
  • Wants clearly defined swim lanes and a large team around them
  • Is looking for a tick-the-box, follow-the-process kind of role
The Work
You'll sit at the intersection of business and technology, translating ambiguity into clarity and ensuring what gets built actually solves the problem. Practically, this means:
  • Analysing and documenting processes across underwriting, policy administration, and claims
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiency gains
  • Translating requirements into clear functional specs and user stories
  • Defining data structures, field mappings, and validation rules across integrations
  • Supporting API contract design, integration schemas, and event-driven data flows
  • Working alongside developers, testers, and stakeholders through delivery
Example problems you might work on:
  • Mapping how insurance data flows between underwriting, policy, and claims – and where it breaks down.
  • Reducing configuration time for new client implementations by separating what varies from what can be standardised.
  • Defining validation logic for an integration schema that currently lives in someone's head.
None of these requires extensive years of experience. They require curiosity, structured thinking, and the willingness to dig in.

About You
You're 1–3 years in – a standout graduate or someone who's had a sharp start in a systems or analyst-adjacent role. Either way, you're ready for real responsibility.

You bring:

1) The ability to translate business needs into structured, implementable requirements
2) Comfort with how information flows between systems - APIs, SQL, data modelling, config schemas
3) Strong analytical thinking and a habit of asking the right questions first
4) Clear, concise communication, in writing and in rooms
5) The instinct to take ownership, follow through, and bring a point of view

Nice to have:

6) Exposure to AI tools or AI-assisted process improvement
7) Experience with Microsoft Azure or cloud platforms
8) Familiarity with workflow automation or event-based architecture
9) Any background in insurance or financial services

What Excelling Looks Like
At 12 months, you're not just doing things the way they've always been done. You've made processes more efficient, reduced friction in delivery, and you're genuinely working with customers to understand the context behind the work – not just executing tasks.
You understand, not just do. That's the bar.
