You can establish yourself as a key player as
the
Technical BA in
their
Business
Intelligence team.
You'll get lots of exposure across different teams/stakeholders and
you won't get bored, especially if you enjoy lots of business
interaction while providing thoughtful & innovative business
intelligence solutions that drive business insight.
What you'll be doing (summary)
1) liaise with the business (proactively of course, no
spoon feeding) and gather reqs to understand wants or 'real
needs'
2) understand the processes / nuances of how the stockbroking
business operates.
3) create technical designs and hand them over to the BI developers
to code
4) data discovery tasks - this will involve writing SQL queries or
analysing query / data.
5) Build relationships with varying audiences ie dept heads, IT
leads, Head of Business Ops, Partners, Distribution, Marketing
teams.
About You
While its important you are structured in your approach, it's quite
a 'fluid environment' therefore it can be quite different to that
of say working in a bank where things can be laced in red tape. If

Essential
- Proficient at data discovery and analytics activities using
SQL (MS SQL Server/Oracle)
- Experience in analysing, documenting and communicating complex
business applications such as CRM and
OLTP systems to both technical and non-technical
colleagues
- Experience in creating requirements for data
models, data warehouse, and
ETL
Desirable
- Exposure to data management solutions such as
MDM and RDM
- Experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools
- Experience with the AWS data toolsets and
services such as: S3, Glue, Kinesis, Athena, Redshift,
Sagemaker, EMR, Quicksight
- Experience in Agile development across
multiple environments
- Quality assurance
- Experience managing data services as a product including data
operations and quality of service
- Experience with Stockbroking and/or Derivative/CFD
products
Experience in regulatory bodies reporting requirements (e.g.
ASIC, CRS, FATCA, MiFID, EMIR)
